General Data Protection Regulation (gdpr)
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is a regulation in EU law on data protection and privacy for all individuals within the European Union (EU) and the European Economic Area (EEA). It also addresses the export of personal data outside the EU and EEA. The GDPR aims primarily to give control to citizens and residents over their personal data and to simplify the regulatory environment for international business by unifying the regulation within the EU.
The following measures have been taken by Expertise.tv to comply with GDPR
1 Community Settings:
You can set GDPR settings to EU, Global or Off from the Configure menu option in your Dashboard. Simply click on Settings and select the desired option from the GDPR Settings drop down;
2 Members:
You can unsubscribe community members who wish to opt out of receiving emails from your community. Simply click on the Unsubscribe button and click on the OK button on the altert pop-up;
3 Opting Out / In
Members in your community can choose to opt out of by hovering over their pictures at the top right of their screen once they are logged in and clicking on My Notifications. once Here, they can simply uncheck the box against a community name to opt out or check the box to opt back in;
When they enter their email address to sign up to your webinar they will see a pop up that asks them if they would like to receive emails about your community;
They will see the same pop-up when they try to opt in from your community page;
In addition to this, we have updated our terms and also made an addendum for GDPR under Data Processing
